Having experience isn’t the only path to a great career, but it can definitely help.

At TCI, we can help you get that experience and build a strong resume while you’re completing your degree.

Cooperative Education, frequently referred to as “co-op”, combines academic study with professional work experience in your major. Co-op can provide you with:

  • an opportunity to earn money;
  • credit toward your degree;
  • a path to a full-time position upon graduation.

Placements are typically one semester in length and require anywhere from 15-40 hours of work per week.
Co-op positions typically go to TCI’s best students. Eligibility includes:
  • completion of the equivalent of three semesters of full-time study;
  • a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above;
  • successful completion of a co-op interview and training session.

Internships are similar to co-op but are of varying lengths, may be part-time or full-time, and may not result in monetary compensation.

Part-time Employment is another great way to get experience.Internship
The Federal Work-Study Program administered through the Office of Student Financial Services, provides the opportunity for students with demonstrated financial need to work up to 20 hours per week right on campus.

In addition, the TCI’s Office of Student Employment maintains listings of a variety of part-time, off-campus employment opportunities.

Volunteer and Community Service Opportunities are another way to get the experience you need. They have the added benefit of serving the community and giving something back to those who may be in need. Explore options that may be available in your own community, or consider volunteering through TCI’s Dare to Dream/Dare to Repair program.
Let us show you what a TCI degree can do for you.
